1. Introduction

Global Climate Finance Forum ("GCFF", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the personal information of individuals who interact with our website at globalclimatefinanceforum.com.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information. By submitting any form on our website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

For any privacy-related questions, please contact us at: info@globalclimatefinanceforum.com

2. What Data We Collect

When you submit a form on our website, we may collect the following personal information:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Country or region
  • Organization name
  • Job title or role
  • How you describe yourself (selected from a dropdown)
  • Areas of engagement interest (selected from checkboxes, e.g., co-designing initiatives, connecting SMEs with investors, sponsoring events)
  • A brief description of your interest or inquiry (free text)
  • Communication preferences — whether you wish to receive the GCFF newsletter and/or be contacted regarding partnership opportunities

We do not collect payment information, and we do not use website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) that track your behaviour on the site.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the information you provide for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your inquiry or partnership interest — we use your contact details and expressed interests to follow up with you directly.
  • To send the GCFF newsletter — only if you have explicitly opted in by checking the relevant box on the form.
  • To contact you about partnership opportunities — only if you have explicitly consented by checking the relevant box on the form.
  • To understand who engages with GCFF — aggregate, non-identifying information may be used internally to improve our programmes and outreach.

We will not use your data for any purpose incompatible with the reason you provided it.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal grounds:

  • Consent — for sending newsletters and partner communications, which you opt into voluntarily via checkboxes on our forms.
  • Legitimate interests — for processing partnership and engagement inquiries, where we have a legitimate interest in responding to people who reach out to GCFF.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at info@globalclimatefinanceforum.com.

5. Data Storage and Third-Party Processors

We use the following trusted third-party platforms to operate our website and communications. These providers act as data processors on our behalf and are only permitted to use your data in accordance with our instructions.

Webflow

Our website is built and hosted on Webflow. Form submissions are stored via Webflow's platform.

  • Webflow, Inc. is headquartered in the United States. Data transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

MailerLite

We use MailerLite to manage our newsletter mailing list and send email communications. When you opt in to receive the GCFF newsletter, your name and email address are transferred to MailerLite.

  • MailerLite is GDPR-compliant and provides a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) governing the handling of your data.
  • MailerLite's servers are located in the European Union (Lithuania), which ensures an adequate level of data protection for users in the EEA.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy — typically for the duration of our active engagement with you. Newsletter subscribers' data is retained in MailerLite until they unsubscribe or request deletion. If you request deletion of your data, we will action this promptly (see Section 8 below).

7. Cookies

Our website does not currently use tracking or analytics cookies. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly and you will be notified through the website.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Right to withdraw consent — for any processing based on your consent, you can withdraw at any time.
  • Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@globalclimatefinanceforum.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and no later than 30 days.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Our third-party processors (Webflow and MailerLite) maintain their own security standards and certifications. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
